Current BHS juniors and sophomores who want to pursue a career as a teacher are encouraged to attend the Student Informational Session for the new Future Educators Academy on Friday, February 28th at 9:00 am in the BHS Hospitality Room.
The new Future Educators Academy provides BHS students with placement as a teaching intern at either a middle school or elementary school within Bartlesville Public Schools.
Additionally, members in the academy take two college courses from Oklahoma Wesleyan University (OKWU), OKWU EDUC 1302 Called to Teach and OKWU EDUC 2303 P-12 Learner Development. In total, academy members earn 5 college credits for free from OKWU, which equates to two (2) high school elective credits on their BHS transcript.
This new format allows students to begin their academic journey to become classroom teacher while earning firsthand experience as teaching interns. Students who complete the program will qualify for a $5,000 annual scholarship at OKWU if they pursue a major in education at OKWU.
Current BHS students in Tri County Tech's Teacher Prep program are strongly encouraged to apply to continue their development as future educators.
All students who complete the program will be given the opportunity to receive employment updates from Bartlesville Public Schools if they wish to one day return to BPS to teach.

Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Swim Team for both being State Runner-up! #bvillebruWIN
