Registration

Classes begin in less than a month on August 11. We will need freshmen to come to BHS on August 4 to pick up their Chromebooks, but the rest of enrollment and registration for grades 9-12 can be handled online.

Please carefully read the steps below.

1. ONLINE ENROLLMENT

  • Annual enrollment/registration of RETURNING students is done using the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

    • Parents need to have a PowerSchool account set up for the student

    • If you have difficulty accessing or using the Parent Portal, please call BHS at 918-336-3311 OR you can come to BHS to register in-person:

      • Incoming 9th/10th graders: Thursday, 8/4 from 8-11 a.m., 12:30-3 p.m., or 5-6 p.m. in the Freshman Academy

      • Incoming 11th/12th graders: Friday, 8/5 from 8-noon in the main office

  • Click here to enroll a student who is NEW to the district | Spanish version

    • For students new to the district, at the Enrollment website, click the Create Account button to get started; the enrollment system login is separate from the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

    • If new students to the district have difficulty with online enrollment, please call the Education Service Center at 918-336-8600 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday to schedule an appointment with Jennifer Turner, who will assist you.

2. OPTIONAL CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE

High school students are issued Chromebooks they transport to and from school daily. A lost high school Chromebook & case are worth $245. In 2020-21, 223 BHS students lost their $35 chargers, while 124 broke their $40 screens. Those with insurance owed nothing for a first incident and were only charged 50% for a second incident. The insurance lasts for one school year.

Once you have a PowerSchool account, parents of students in grades 9-12 can pay in advance for the optional annual Chromebook insurance. It costs $26 for the 2022-23 school year. (Paying in advance speeds up the Freshman Chromebook Pickups, but freshman parents can also pay at the pickup on August 4 for $26 if paying with a credit/debit card or $30 if paying with cash.)

Parents of students in grades 9-12 can go to ok-bartlesville.intouchreceipting.com and use the student's ID number as the username and the student's last name as the password and renew the annual insurance for the new school year. (Or you can use Purchases and Payments within PowerSchool.)

3. FRESHMEN CHROMEBOOK PICKUP

Freshmen should SIGN UP HERE for a slot at the in-person Chromebook pickup in the BHS Freshman Academy on August 4.

4. FREE AND REDUCED MEALS APPLICATIONS

The federal government has not renewed the waivers providing free lunches for everyone for the 2022-2023 school year. So it is IMPORTANT that EVERYONE who might be eligible CLICK HERE to apply for free-or-reduced meals. Applying not only helps children get fed but also is critical for the district to qualify for federal funding for a wide variety of programs.

5. AFFORDABLE INTERNET

Home internet service is important for effective use of Chromebooks and for distance learning days. Some families qualify for a $30-75 per month discount on home internet service. If a student's family cannot obtain home internet access even with the available discount, a limited number of cellular hotspots will also be available for checkout from the library once classes begin.

6. AUGUST 5-7 SALES TAX HOLIDAY

Oklahoma's annual sales tax holiday weekend will begin on Friday, August 5 and end at midnight on Sunday, August 7. On that weekend, sales of articles of clothing or footwear designed to be worn on or about the human body for which the sales price of the article is less than one hundred dollars will be exempt from sales taxes.

HOWEVER, the exemption does NOT apply to the sale of any accessories, special clothing, or footwear primarily designed for athletic activity or protective use that is not normally worn except when used for athletic activity or protective use, nor to the rental of clothing or footwear. Ineligible accessories include jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, wallets, watches, and other similar items carried on or about the human body, without regard to whether worn on the body in a manner characteristic of clothing.
